D - 40145 to Fort William
25th August 2007

I hadn't had 40145 on the main line for a while, and there is no better place for hard work than the West Highland. One plus the other was a tour I really couldn't miss. On the day it was load 11 plus 57601 for heat (which was a whirring pile of rubbish, but the extra weight was welcome). Unfortunately, circumstances meant that we had 57601 back as far as Craigendoran Jct, where the 40 ran round and replaced the awful, staggering pile of shite we'd had to put up with. Once the premier power was back where we'd paid for it to be, it was absolutely hellfire. Under Glasgow was unbelievable, but the highlight for me was the G&SW at night, full moon, full thrash... Now that WAS good :o)
Oh, did I mention that 57601 is absolute rubbish?
